Star Trek: Lower Decks will “Rarely go” where no one has gone before on August 6th for a ten-episode first season of half-hour episodes.

The second Star Trek animated series will be a comedy starring the crew of the U.S.S. Cerritos. Tawny Newsome (Space Force, ‘Yo, Is This Racist?’) stars as Ensign Beckett Mariner under the command of Captain Carol Freeman, voiced by Dawnn Lewis.

The Bridge Crew is roll call gives us Commander Jack Ransom, voiced by Superman and Shazam voice actor Jerry O’Connell, Lieutenant Shaxs, voiced by Fred Tatasciore and Doctor T’Ana, voiced by Gillian Vigman.

In other news, O’Connell’s wife Rebecca Romijn will return to The Starship Enterprise alongside Anson Mount as Captain Pike and Ethan Peck in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. Star Trek: Discovery will return this year for Season 3. A Section 31-based series with Michelle Yeoh and a CG animated series is in development at Nickelodeon.
